The 5th International Ottoman Turkish Critical Edition Course, organized by the Education Department of the Center for Islamic Studies (İSAM), took place between September 4 and September 16, 2023. The course was concluded with a closing program and certificate ceremony held on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

These International Ottoman Turkish Critical Edition courses, which were first initiated in 2017 with the aim of training experts in the critical scientific edition of handwritten works in Ottoman Turkish and contributing to the establishment of a scholarly standard for the studies conducted in this field in Turkey, saw the participation of 29 individuals in this year's fifth edition.

The Critical Edition Course, which began on Monday, September 4, with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Murteza Bedir, the President of İSAM, and the opening lecture titled "Principles of Critical Edition" given by Prof. Dr. İhsan Fazlıoğlu, was completed after twelve days of a total of 96 hours of theoretical and practical training.
