As a sample of Ottoman Qadi Registers, this book is a selection of fifteen volumes prepared based on 15th and 16th century court records.
Due to the richness of the subjects, legal and social approaches of the registers and the role and the place of the courts in the Ottoman state structure, Qadi Registers have attracted the interest of a large number of intellectuals, both specialists or non-specialists. This work has been prepared in response to this interest.
As can be seen in the book, the selected records have been classified in terms of law and social life, with descriptive information of each record being added.
After each record the location in the original source is given in parentheses, with the actual date of each record being given.
